ABOUT US >

The Wichana Foundation was started in the fall of 2019 by Peter Bernstein, Sarah Cox and Urku Yucharik to support community-based programs in Ecuador that benefit the health, education and culture of community members. Our current primary projects are; supporting the Mojandita Curubi Centro de Salud, a rural health center just outside of Otavalo; supporting the newly formed Muyumi Kanki Kichwa Cultural Center, in Cotacachi, that focuses on teaching Kichwa (the local indigenous language) to community members, and: supporting K'allam'p, an organization that teaches sustainable agriculture, health and nutrition to indigenous communities. We are a US tax-exempt organization (501(c)(3)) so contributions are tax deductible as permitted by applicable law.
