Highlights.
La Querencia Community Library, which opened in 2024, serves the Kichwa community of San Antonio del Punje located on the slopes of the Mama Cotacachi volcano. Open to the public, with over 6,000 books in three languages (Spanish, Kichwa and English), the goal of the Library is to encourage reading, to establish community connection, and to foster literacy and cultural knowledge. Wichana volunteers assist the Library with periodic arts and culture workshops for the children of the community. The organizers of the Library are in the planning stages to launch a bookmobile to take the library programs to surrounding communities.

Our Project Partners are committed, talented community organizations that demonstrate ingenuity, a collective mindset, and innovation. Wichana Foundation supports Project Partners by providing technical assistance, particularly in project management resources and fundraising platforms.
