YOUTH WORKSHOPS
& VOLUNTEER
MENTORING.
Project
Highlights.
Wichana hosts periodic workshops at our Cotacachi office and as companion events during exhibitions of our Imbabura Taytamamakuna Kawsay project. Topics have included “Weaving the Future: Community Workshop on Kichwa Textile Traditions”; ““Sapikuna” Documentary Film Screening and Kichwa Language Talking Circle”; and “Perspectives on the “Discovery of the Americas” and the Indigenous Resistance.” Wichana is working with young new volunteers who are helping us in many ways. These future community leaders are bringing skills, ideas, and youthful energy to the table and we are happy to mentor them.
Project
Impact.
Our workshops have been attended by a multicultural audience and have educated indigenous Ecuadorians about their own history and culture helping empower their own personal growth, and educated others about the universal values of the Kichwa culture and traditions. Our young volunteers attain real life work experience on our projects and initiatives. We have a number of volunteers who have established educational and career goals based on their Wichana experiences.

The donation form is a vital component of the Wichana Foundation's efforts to drive positive change in communities. Our donation form serves as an easy and secure channel for our supporters to contribute financially to various initiatives that empower women and promote cultural preservation in Ecuador. Donors can choose specific projects to support or opt for general contributions, helping ensure that resources are allocated where they are most needed.

OUR
ADVISORY
COMMITTEE.
Our Board Members are integral to the success of the Wichana Foundation, bringing diverse skills and perspectives that shape our strategies and initiatives. Each member is committed to our mission and plays a vital role in governance, ensuring transparency, and fostering community involvement. Through collaborative efforts, they guide our programs and represent the interests of the communities we serve.
Our Women's Advisory Committee provides us with guidance from the outstanding women leaders of our partner projects. The members provide one another with mutual support, project analyses, program development, and fundraising tools. WAC's guidance for the foundation is vital to our success because it is rooted in its members' intimate knowledge of the needs of the families and communities where they live as well as serve through their community service projects.
