Wichana Foundation December 2024 Newsletter
Updated: Feb 27

Wichana Foundation’s December 2024 Newsletter highlights impactful developments throughout the year, focusing on community-driven initiatives in rural Ecuador. By partnering with Education for Ecuador, the Foundation supports underfunded schools with much-needed resources, while also launching a new Cultural Grants Initiative that preserves and celebrates Kichwa traditions through art, music, and solstice Raymi ceremonies. Our expanded collaboration efforts include relocating to a more accessible Cotacachi office, where local artists and craftspeople receive mentorship and a platform to showcase their work. Meanwhile, the growing Medical/Dental Brigade extends vital healthcare services to remote communities, integrating both Western and ancestral medicine to address pressing healthcare needs.
These accomplishments reflect the Wichana Foundation’s commitment to supporting and empowering underserved populations in Ecuador. From cultural celebrations to expanding healthcare access, the Foundation’s work prioritizes local leadership, indigenous knowledge, and collaborative solutions. As the year comes to a close, Wichana sets its sights on 2025 with plans to broaden its impact, encouraging continued support through monthly donations that make a tangible difference in the communities they serve.
