March was an impactful month for Wichana Foundation, marked by meaningful collaborations that enhanced health, culture, and education among indigenous communities in Ecuador. The month began vibrantly with a cultural festival in Morales Chupa-Cushcagua, organized in partnership with the Kichwa Cultural Center Muyumi Kanki. This event was vital in preserving traditional rituals and customs, drawing participation from both local community members and expat supporters.

Continuing the spirit of community engagement, International Women's Day was celebrated at Mojandita Curubí Health Center with a joyous gathering, promoting social interaction for elderly rural patients through games and shared meals. Additionally, La Querencia Community Library collaborated with Muyumi Kanki to immerse local children in the rich Kichwa cultural heritage. Inspired by this successful event, Wichana aims to extend their impact through the establishment of a mobile library initiative, which would benefit more communities in the future.

The month concluded with significant educational and health initiatives. Wichana's partnership with Education for Ecuador demonstrated success through a carpentry training program for students at Unidad Educativa Bilingüe Nazacota Puento high school, setting the foundation for a future technical school. Furthermore, Wichana’s Medical/Dental Brigade undertook its sixth mission to the Ecuadorian Amazon, providing essential care and addressing alarming malnutrition rates among the indigenous Siona community. The foundation emphasizes the critical need for ongoing support and donations to sustain and expand these essential services.
